St. Patrick (n. 390 - 461)

St. Patrick on yksi suosituimmista pyhimyksistä yhdessä St. Nicholauksen ja St. Valentinuksen kanssa. Tiedot tästä suuresta Irlannin apostolista vaihtelevat eri lähteiden mukaan. Syntymäpaikaksi mainitaan useimmiten Skotlanti, mutta myös Wales ja jopa Ranska. Alkuperäisestä nimestä ei myöskään ole täyttä varmuutta. Joidenkin lähteiden mukaan se olisi ollut Patricius Magonus Sucatus, toisten taas Maewyn Succat. St Patrick kuoli 17. maaliskuuta vuonna 461 ja siitä lähtien kyseistä päivää on vietetty hänen muistopäivänään.
